The Project
The client purchased this midcentury gem with the aim of preserving the original charm and distinctive, ahead-of-its-time Ivan Wells architecture. Since the house had remained untouched since it was built in 1963, we addressed every aspect. We maintained the original floor plan while updating it to include expansive bifold openings and modern Scandinavian cabinetry. We were actively involved in the design process and successfully completed the renovation of this home in approximately 10 months from start to finish.
The scope of the remodel was extensive, involving a complete overhaul of the home. We took the house down to the studs, leaving only the roof and foundation intact. All new plumbing and electrical systems were installed to ensure modern functionality and safety. The interior was reconfigured to create an open floor plan, providing a more spacious and contemporary feel. We added a bar room for entertaining and a pool to enhance the outdoor living experience.
The entire home was equipped with AV smart home technology, bringing modern convenience and connectivity. Vaulted ceilings were introduced to add height and elegance to the living spaces. We installed all new drywall and rebuilt interior walls to accommodate the new layout, resulting in a fully renovated home that seamlessly blends midcentury charm with modern amenities.
